Gautham Viswaroopan

Chair of Council of Chapters
Students for the Exploration and Development of Space, USA

Speaker: SGx Keynote Series at SATELLITE 2019

Gautham Viswaroopan received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Astrophysics and Planetary Sciences at CU Boulder in 2017. He is currently still at CU now pursuing his MS in Aerospace Engineering with a focus in structures and materials.

Outside of schoolwork, he is heavily involved in extracurriculars; specifically, Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS). This organization gave him the opportunity to compete in competitions such as the SpaceX Hyperloop Tournament, NASA neutral buoyancy competition, NASA Microgravity University, and the NASA AMRD Challenge. After being a part of this organization for five years, he has stepped up to CU’s chapter president, then SEDS-USA’s chair of the council of chapters, and currently runs the organization at the international level.
With his passion and experience in aerospace through university, internships, and extracurricular projects, he would like to graduate and join the aerospace industry as a design and manufacturing engineer.
