Jay Bloom, PMP is Vice President of Ground Systems and Operations at OneWeb. He is responsible for directing the development, implementation, and operation of OneWeb’s ground network enabling high capacity, low latency global communications via OneWeb’s Low Earth Orbit constellation.
Prior to joining OneWeb, Mr. Bloom served as the Senior Vice President of Ground Systems at O3b, now SES Networks. At O3b, he was the responsible executive for development, delivery, and operation of the O3b ground system including globally located gateways, user terminals, and the O3b Network Operations Center.
Mr. Bloom has over 35 years in System Engineering and Program Management in the aerospace and telecommunication industries. He held the position of Sr Program Manager at Northrop Grumman Corporation supporting development of advanced technology ground systems for defense related systems. Before this, he was Sr Program Manager and Chief Systems Engineer at Ball Aerospace & Technologies where he directed the development and delivery of advanced satellite systems. Jay began his career as a Project and Systems Engineer at Harris Corporation.
Mr. Bloom received an M.S. in Engineering Management from Florida Institute of Technology, and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University. He also holds a PMP certification from the Project Management Institute.
