Ric Prentiss is the head of telecommunication services equity research at
Raymond James. Prior to becoming a Wall Street analyst in 1996, he spent
17 years in the telecommunications industry working for BellSouth and
Southern Bell in engineering, corporate finance, financial management,
international business planning and operations, mergers and acquisitions,
and investor relations. Mr. Prentiss' experience includes cellular, personal
communication services (PCS), paging, wireline telephony, satellite communications,
cable television, and an expatriate assignment in Germany. He has
earned a number of professional accolades as an analyst, including being
named a runner‐up twice in the wireless services category in the annual
Institutional Investor survey. He has been the top‐ranked analyst in both the
mobile telecommunications and telecommunications equipment sectors in
The Wall Street Journal Best on the Street survey, and was also recognized as
the top stock‐picker in his sector several times in the StarMine Top Analyst
survey. Mr. Prentiss has twice been recognized in the Forbes Blue Chip
analyst survey. He earned his B.S.E.E. from the University of Florida and
his MBA from the University of Miami.
