Presenter: What I Learned from Inking Facebook's First Space Industry Deal

Damien Garot is a Space executive with more than 20 years of experience in business and investment.
Trained as a space engineer (Supaéro, Toulouse), he has worked for a space agency (CNES), a start-up (SkyBridge), a space manufacturer (Alcatel Alenia Space) and an operator (Eutelsat).
He was the Eutelsat’s director of Corporate Development for 11 years. He has led organic investment projects (€2.5Bn validated by the Eutelsat Board of Directors) as well as the first external full acquisition of Eutelsat ($228M). Among other projects, he has signed the first partnership between Facebook and the space industry, to bring satellite internet to Sub-Saharan Africa.
He is the founder of Jansky Partners, that supports space incumbents, start-ups and financial players. He believes that the rejuvenation of the space sector will come from these players cooperating as one single ecosystem.
