Mr. Villarreal is one of the most seasoned satellite operators in Latin America with over twenty years of experience in the telecommunications and information technology industries, in consultative sales, marketing, strategic planning and development of new business areas.
Mr. Villarreal help found Elara in 2004 through the merger of several businesses and has seen the Company become the second fastest growing teleport company in the world in 2012, according to the World Teleport Association.
Prior to the founding of Elara, Mr. Villarreal held several management positions at SATMEX, a global satellite operator with operations in 39 countries. As Director of Marketing, Mr. Villarreal was responsible for heading all marketing and communications strategies worldwide and spearheaded multiple strategic alliances that resulted in significant growth of SATMEX. He has held the position of Associate Director of Business at REDSAT, a Latin focused satellite operator.
Mr. Villarreal has a Masters in Economics and Business from the Internal Graduate School of Management, Barcelona and holds a Bachelor Degree in Computer Engineering from ITAM.
