Akther Javid is Director of IoT Strategy and Partner Management at Sprint Business. She is responsible for the overall strategy of the IoT business as well as business alliances and partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Before joining Sprint, Akther worked for the CEO of Vodafone IoT on strategy and transformation to ensure Vodafone maintains its position as the global IoT leader.
Akther has over 15 years’ experience in the industry having worked with leading communications providers such as BT, Inmarsat and Vodafone. She has worked in strategy, transformation and new market development with these companies giving her a thorough understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the fixed, satellite and wireless business.
She holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Toxicology from the University of Madras and an MBA from the University of Cambridge.
Akther has worked in India and the UK before moving to New York, where she is currently based. She is a passionate advocate of women in technology and mentors people who want to pursue a career in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
