Speaker: New Launch Options to Orbit Part 1: Ridesharing and Small Satellite Launch Specialists

Curt Blake, CEO and president of Spaceflight, has more than 25 years of executive experience in high-growth technology industries. Under Curt’s leadership, Spaceflight has successfully negotiated the launch of nearly 300 satellites across 29 launches on behalf of its customers and was recently acquired by Mitsui in early 2020.
The acquisition was a unique opportunity for Spaceflight to further invest and expand its commercial and government rideshare launch services. Since the acquisition and under Curt’s leadership, Spaceflight introduced a wide array of flexible launch initiatives, including its Sherpa-NG (next-generation) program, new web portals to simplify the booking process and an identification program. Additionally in 2020, Curt led the company’s efforts to secure a Multi-Launch Agreement with SpaceX, adding capacity and launch options to Spaceflight’s already diverse launch portfolio. In 2019, the Spaceflight team executed nine successful missions in 2019, the most rideshare launches Spaceflight had performed in one year.
Given his experience and extensive industry knowledge, we’d like to nominate Curt to speak on a panel at Satellite 2021. Curt would add to a lively and educational panel discussion about the enormous role flexibility has on combating one of the most common problems the industry faces: launch delays.
Prior to moving into his role as CEO and president, Curt served as senior vice president and general counsel for Spaceflight, leading efforts to expand its global network of launch service providers while also building relationships with key commercial, civilian and defense customers. Prior to joining Spaceflight, he held a range of senior executive and general counsel roles at Microsoft, Starwave, Corbis and Aldus.
