Rear Admiral (Ret.) Garry R. White is Vice Chairman of Busek, an advanced Space Propulsion and Systems company. In this capacity he works with the Chairman, President, CEO and Directors to oversee the strategy and operation of Busek’s research, development, testing and manufacturing. This includes, but is not limited to Space Propulsion systems, Flight Hardware, Electronics and associated applications. Admiral White is also President of Excelsior Enterprises, a diverse consulting and investment firm. In this capacity he draws on his years of experience as a corporate executive and military leader to benefit Executive and Corporate Clients. In addition to Executive coaching, he uses his broad and extensive expertise to provide specific technical assistance to a wide variety of customers.
Admiral White was a Naval Aviator qualified flying the A7E Corsair, the A-4 Skyhawk and the F/A-18 Hornet. After attending the Navy Fighter Weapons School “TOPGUN”; he was designated an Adversary Instructor. Admiral White served in: the NATO headquarters, Naples, Italy; the U.S. Navy Headquarters in London, England; F/A-18 Command with the VFA113 "Stingers" (flew while deployed on USS AMERICA, USS RANGER, USS KITTY HAWK, USS NIMITZ and USS CARL VINSON); the Pentagon; Nuclear Power Training; Executive Officer, USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (deployed to the Arabian Gulf/Mediterranean Sea, including combat operations against Iraq); Commanding Officer, USS ARCTIC (deploying to the Mediterranean/North Seas and Arabian Gulf providing logistics support and leading Maritime Intercept Operations, boarding and towing United Nations Sanction violating vessels, and providing armed escort for other U.S. Vessels, on September 11th 2001, ARCTIC was the first warship on station in the Indian Ocean for the response to the terrorist attack and Operation Enduring Freedom); Chief of Staff, Second Fleet/Striking Fleet Atlantic; Commanding Officer, USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (deploying to Southern Command, and Dry-docking Phased Incremental Availabilities). Relinquishing Command, Admiral White reported to Washington, DC where he served as Director, Total Force Manpower Requirements and Special Assistant to the Chief of Naval Operations for Comprehensive Casualty Care. Admiral White returned to Command as Commander, Strike Force Training Atlantic where he served until he transitioned to the civilian sector in October 2010.
