Ken Flowers is the Vice President, Government Business Development at Iridium Communications Inc., the only satellite communications company that offers truly global voice and data coverage. In this role, he is responsible for developing strategic plans for and marketing to U.S. and foreign governments, with emphasis on increasing applications and use of Iridium in the U.S. Department of Defense. Ken is an executive with both Profit and Loss and Business Development experience. Prior to joining Iridium, Ken worked as a Director of Business Development at Exelis Corporation where he led the strategic and tactical Business Development efforts associated with Exelis’ family of multi-band/multi-channel tactical radios with sales in excess of $500M. Ken also worked at ITT Corporation and the Office of the Secretary of Defense. As a Product Manager at Manportable Satellite Systems, he successfully produced a Secure Enroute Communications terminal for Airborne Contingency Forces in response to a Post 9/11 Urgent Operational Need. Ken holds a Master’s degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College, Carlisle, PA, a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management from Troy State University, Montgomery, AL, and a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from North Carolina A&T State University, Greensboro, NC.
