Speaker: Recipe for Success: Establishing a Patient Optimization Program

Faith Colen is a graduate of DeSales University with a BSN and a MS in Nursing Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Faith is certified in emergency nursing through the BCEN and is a member of the ENA and NAHQ. Faith is the Quality Manger at UPMC ST. Margaret and is the project manager for the Joint Care Center. Faith has lead initiatives to decrease surgical site infections for spinal fusions, total hip and total knee arthroplasty. Faith’s focus on modification of comorbidities for elective surgical procedures has assisted in decreasing length of stay, readmission, and surgical complications. Faith’s passions have led her to be an international and national speaker on clinical nursing topics, patient advocacy, and quality improvement.
