Speaker: Increasing Engagement of Surgical Technologists: Tech it to the Next Level

Katharine Geiger is an expert in OR nursing with over thirty years of experience. Since 1994, she has held various nursing management roles in the perioperative setting, ranging from Clinical Coordinator to her current role as Interim Clinical Director of Perioperative Nursing. Throughout her career, Katharine has led multiple surgical service specialties within the OR, including the cardiac, vascular, transplant and neurosurgery service lines. She was selected and successfully completed an Association of Nurse Executive (AONE ) Nurse Management Fellowship and has also led initiatives involving innovative staffing solutions. In addition to her current role, Katharine also manages an operating room float pool which provides experienced high-functioning OR staff to numerous locations within the Penn Medicine Health System.
