Beverly Kirchner’s career began in Labor and Delivery at Parkland Hospital in 1976. Within three years of nursing practice, Ms. Kirchner found her way to the operating room where she has since focused her career. In 1985, Ms. Kirchner’s focus changed from nursing in an inpatient setting to outpatient care in ASCs.

Ms. Kirchner helped develop and open her first Ambulatory Surgery Center in late 1985. Ambulatory surgery was cutting edge healthcare at that time and she was in on the ground floor. To date, Ms. Kirchner has developed and opened more than sixty (60) ambulatory care facilities.

Ms. Kirchner’s business travels have taken her around the world where she has had the privilege of working side-by-side and sharing best practices with physicians and perioperative nurses. Ms. Kirchner is one of the founding members of the ASC Quality Collaboration (ascquality.org) and is a long-standing AORN member where she has worked on national committees, chaired committees and sat on the AORN Board of Directors. Ms. Kirchner is also active in ASCA and OR Manager where she serves on the Education Committee of both organizations.
